چکیده

We present results on pentaquark searches from nuclear collisions at RHIC with the STAR detector system. An intriguing peak has been observed in the invariant mass distribution of pK+pK from 18.6 Million d+Au collision events at √ s NN = 200 GeV. The peak centers at a mass 1528± 2± 5 MeV/c and the FWHM ∼ 15 MeV/c limited by detector responses. The statistical significance of the peak is 4.2σ. Such a state if confirmed is manifestly exotic and implies a family of isospin one states. A weak signal of less statistical significance (∼ 3σ) has been observed in 5.6M Au+Au collision events at 62.4 GeV. Searches in 10.7M Au+Au collision events at 200 GeV yield no significant signal. The Au+Au results neither confirm nor rule out the d+Au observation as a possible state.

Pentaquark searches at the B A B AR experiment ∗

A review of the results in the inclusive and exclusive searches for pentaquark states obtained from the analysis of the data recorded at the BABAR experiment at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center PEP-II B-Factory, is presented. Inclusive searches for the strange pentaquark states

Have Pentaquark States Been Seen?

The status of the search for pentaquark baryon states is reviewed in light of new results from the first two dedicated experiments from CLAS at Jefferson Lab and of new analyses from several labs on the Θ + (1540). Evidence for and against the heavier pentaquark states, the Ξ(1862) and the Θ 0 c (3100) observed at CERN and at HERA, respectively, are also discussed. I conclude that the evidence ...

Results of the Searches for Narrow Baryonic States with Strangeness in Dis at Hera

Searches for narrow baryonic states in the K S p, Kp, Ξ π and Ξ̄ π decay channels are reported. The data were collected with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 121 pb. The searches were performed in the central rapidity region of inclusive deep inelastic scattering at an ep centre-ofmass energy of 300–318 GeV for exchanged photon virtuality, Q, above 1 GeV. The results s...

Exotic hadrons from quark clustering at FAIR

The CBM experiment at FAIR will probe nuclear matter at high densities and comparatively low temperatures, giving access to a region of the phase diagram of QCD not yet studied in detail. One expects to find highly compressed hadronic matter and, at higher energies, deconfined quark matter, possibly subject to strong correlations. These conditions could be favourable to the production of exotic...

Pentaquark Update After Ten Years

Studying scattering of heavy flavor hadrons and looking for bound states is shown to give experimental information otherwise unobtainable about effective two-body interactions between constituent (qq)6 and (q̄q)8 pairs respectively in color sextet and color octet states. All the successes of the constituent quark model in (uds) hadron spectroscopy are shown to depend only on effective two-body i...
